Speculaas

I have been the process of making speculaas...yes the Dutch cookie. I wanted to use some of the cardamom that I bought so I specifically looked for a recipe on the net and made them. They don't taste too bad if I do say so myself!

Lainey has a new cell and the number is similiar to mom's. It has text messaging on it and a camera too. It sounds like mine. Anyways she is having fun texting me back and forth......she is the first one to ever text me on my phone!

Yesterday we had a crazy, windy stormy day...it was so wild!!! The rain was pelting on my bedroom windows and wind was blowing and blowing all over the place. I was hoping that school would be closed, but no such luck. Driving out there was ok but the whole time at school you could hear the wind howling and howling outside and the sky was so dark! Apparently the power went out in quite a few areas of the lower mainland.

We have been told not to drink the water from the tap because it has rained so much and there is too much crud in it or something like that from all of the rain. Well, this could explain why I felt so nauseous and the sick the other night and why Laura has been feeling not so great either. I went to Safeway to get some bottled water and it was crazy because people there were buying tons and tons of bottles. Crazy! Maybe it is time to invest in a Brita.

Laura says that Archie looks like a wedge of cheese when he is on his back. .....I think that she is right.

Thank goodness friday is almost here.
