I have a kitten. He is a skinny, scrawny black rascal and we named him Kuma, which means bear in Japanese. Andrew thought of the name. Kuma hardly looks like a bear right now but I am thinking that maybe he will turn out to have a similiar body shape as Izzy because she was skinny and scrawny too when I got her. Anyways, he is about 3 and a half months old and is a real cutie as he trots around and plays with his fake mouse. The bad part is that he has this habit of climbing up my body which I am not very fond of - i.e. the scratches. He loves attention though and he loves me the best I'm sure because I am the one who is home with him all day. He does like Andrew too, but I am his favourite.
This doesn't mean of course that I am replacing Izzy. I just have two cats now...Izzy and Kuma. Thank goodness Laura is looking after Izzy and giving her lovin. Kuma was a Valentine's day present and I am really grateful for him. I just hope he eats more so that he gets some meat on his bones..you know what I mean? Laura, I'm feeding him McDonald's. I know, it is terrible but there aren't any pet stores around here like Tisol and they don't sell lots of cans of wet stuff like they do there so right now he is on IAMS (aaack!). He doesn't like it much but it is what he was being fed so eventually I am going to wean him off of it and try him on a different kind of kibble which is better for him. And, I am going to look around for wet food for him too. Anyways, he does need to gain weight right now so hopefully this will work. It goes against my principles though to feed him such junk....it truly does.
I went for a bike ride with Andrew yesterday. It was fun because he rode nice and casual so that I could keep up and he gave me some good tips as well. I liked going for a bike with him. I want to ride more so that I get better at it. It is just the timing....that's all.
Today, I wrote many a thank you card for wedding gifts etc. It took some time because I wanted to personalize them...at least to the people in Canada that I know well. Now I have the easy "thank you for coming to our reception and for the gift of _______________ that you gave us. We love it! From Elicia and Andrew...blah..blah...blah. I'll do these ones tomorrow because they will be done in no time.
Well got to go and work on a paper for my montessori stuff still. It's my goal, to get it done today. I'll do it.
