Australia

So we are here in Australia. After a very turbulent 3 hour flight (in which the tvs weren't working properly and I all of my attempts to watch the proposal failed) we arrived in Sydney where Andrew's Dad and his girlfriend Jenny picked us up. It was sunny and windy outside, much like the weather last year when we came here. I was feeling exhausted and my kankles were like elephant ankles because I only got 3 hours sleep the night before. We went to Andrew's Dad's place and had some lunch and then it was over to Andrew sister Sarah's where we were to then go shopping. We shopped for what seemed like forever and I felt sick the whole time but managed to find a skirt and top that fit me. I was in no mood to try things on but I felt pressured so I just did it. Let's just say that I was glad to get to Andrew's brother's place that night and go to sleep because I was feeling tired and stressed which pretty much = nausea and vomiting. Things are a little stressful here because so many people want to spend time with us and they are getting into arguments about where we are staying and with who and who gets us when. Saturday was the absolute worst. Yesterday I stayed away from this talk and it helped because I didn't feel nearly as stressed. I hate being the source of so much contention even though it isn't really our fault I guess. It just doesn't feel great. But I need to thing of me and the babelet and I'll tell you, he / she doesn't like me being stressed either. So I'm just going to remove myself from the situation if it gets too much. I told Andrew this and this is just how it is going to have to be. Yesterday we went on a picnic with Andrew's family and there was some more talk about who gets us when and I was grateful that I wasn't sitting at the table then during that conversation. I was talking with his two youngest sisters instead about baby names and stuff...a much more pleasant topic!

Yesterday Andrew's sister Sarah gave us some baby clothes that she had from when her son was a baby. They are so cute! We are so glad to have them because they are our first things for the baby. She also gave us this play mat thing that you can put on the ground and the baby can lay on. It was an early Christmas present. It is shaped like a buzzy bee. It is so, so cute! Having these things is starting to make the whole baby thing seem more and more real to me. When we get back I'll have the 20 week ultrasound (even though I'll be 21 weeks) but we aren't going to find out what it is. My gut feeling is that it is a boy but who knows? My mom thinks that it is a girl. We will be happy with either.

Got to go and run some errands.

20 weeks!! So exciting! Boys are an absolute joy...though I'm thoroughly biased!
You are dealing with the stress magnificently and YES you SHOULD think of you and the babelet! I'm proud of you!
The coming weeks and months are going to be extremely exciting! This is a GOOD thing!

Elicia!! I just discovered your blog!!! (alright, alright,I always knew it was out there somewhere, I've just never actually got up the courage to find it, but I'm so glad I did!)I didn't know you are expecting! Yay, that's awesome, I'm so excited for you! Your comment on Laura's blog got my attention, what with you not doing your hair and everything. What is this about? Not a bun everyday! That's so teacher-ish. And it makes me laugh, because I can so see you doing that. I miss you. I miss doing your hair. I wish I could do it for you and let you know how beautiful you are. You probably look hotter than you know even with just a bun. Anyway, I miss you, and I'm excited for you and I'm glad I can read about your life now.

Can't wait to see pictures of your baby bump!
