Well, I have cold. Yup, definitely a cold...runny nose...sneezing...the whole bit. Everyone says that you get sick during your first year of teaching...well technically this is my second full year of teaching in a classroom and here I am sick again. It bites. I have lots of things to do this evening too like practice my flute and work on world builders and tidy up the kitchen and really I don't feel like doing any of this. I just want to go to bed.
It is stinky in the house because one of the kitties did a major #2 if you know what I mean. Man their poohs stink!
Well there is nothing new to really talk about. Today was a good day at work. The Year 1s were much better than they have been for quite awhile. Cathy G and I have been really strict with them and our strategy of "divide and conquer" seems to be slowly working. Some of the busier ones are trying much harder to listen and pay attention as well and this is wonderful to see. We are trying to get the year 2s and 3s to be leaders but some of them just are not into it so this makes it difficult. Time will tell I guess. Overall, I actually enjoyed being around them didn't feel like such a nag for a change.
Being in the Preschool in the PM fun but also hard. I mean I love kids, but sometimes it is hard for me to be patient with some of the kids who just choose to tune you out and deliberately not listen....and then there are a couple of "escapees" that we need to watch out for.......they are so little....it makes me glad that I didn't become a Preschool teacher.
Someone outside is singing....maybe the next Canadian idol is in our neighborhood!
In other news I just found out that one of my acquaintances from highschool is a lesbian. It was kind of shocking news but also kind of not shocking because I sort of had a suspicion, but only for a little while. I would not have guessed it when we were in highschool. Bizarre....different strokes for different folks I guess.
