A Sunday of woes

Well, Laura and I must be jinxed today because we have had a lot of problems in our place today. Let me list to you what had all gone on withing the past few hours...

1. For some strange reason Laura cannot get the computer that she is using to work - it turns on but neither of the screens do.......weird...

2. She using the microwave and the popcorn popper at the same outlet and all of the sudden both stopped. Probablu blew a fuse right? Well we both looked at the Breaker box and it looks nothing like any of the breaker boxes that we have seen before and we have no idea what to do with it so we have to leave it until we can get in touch with Mike and Franca (called them but no one is home). We later realized that all of the outlets in our kitchen (other than the stove) are not working....bummer bigtime.

3. Today I noticed in the cupboard there were a lot of moths flying around in and near the bowls etc. Laura saw more in the cupboard where the cookbooks were and found not only moths but also larva and cocoons! Ewwww!

Well we researched the net and discovered that they are Indian Meal Worms and they like to lay eggs etc. in pantries where there are dry goods like flour and sugar and oats and wheat etc......they can eat through plastic bags....so...this meant that we either inspect every item in a plastic bag (of which there are many) or throw things out....so to be on the safe side we threw things out....hated to do it because it is such a waste but we don't want to chance more moths growing (Laura found some in a bag of wheat that she got from church).

So down to the garbage bin we went with two garbage bags full of goods. It was a sorry sight.

4. We still do not have a mail key which means that our bills are going to be late....we are waiting to hear from Mike and Franca about this too.

5. Laura can't find the book that she is reading.

Can this day get any worse?

I think it must be the season for pantry pests. Gross! We had to throw out a lot of food too.
