Irma asked us to write a poem using one or more of the figures of speech that we went over yesterday.

This is what I wrote (I like it) :

I dream of summer...

Where the sizzling sun beats down upon my "suited," sunscreened body...

Where I find myself entangled in the rushing waves...
anxious to reach the shore

Where gulls scour the ground
for remnants left behind by careless visitors

Where diaper-clad toddlers cautiously pad along the firm, wet sand

Where a familiar tune from my childhood is heard in the distance...
beckoning children to draw near. ..
a modern day "Pied Piper"

Where the smell of salt surrounds one's nostrils,
like a swarm of bees gathering honey

I dream of summer........

When will it come?
When will it come?
